About Grenada

The nation of Grenada, measuring 344 km2, is composed of three key islands: Grenada and its sister islands Carriacou and Petite Martinique. Each is beautiful and rich in culture, historic sites, fresh culinary delights, and much more. Grenada was a French and British colony, but gained independence from the United Kingdom on February 7, 1974.

Grenada, known as the ‘Isle of Spice,’ is one of the most magnificent islands in the West Indies. Unspoilt and exotic, it astounds visitors with its wildly jagged mountain peaks, hidden coves, spice plantations, and lush verdant rainforests. Its beaches are idyllic, with white or golden sand, palm trees, and the delicate aroma of the island’s native spices.

In addition to its scenery, Grenada offers culture, fun, and friendliness typical of the authentic Caribbean life – making Grenada the perfect place in which to live, work and play.

Grenada is a constitutional monarchy with a British style parliamentary system of government. The Queen has her representative, an appointed Governor General, representing the Queen as the Head of State.

About Grenada's CITIZENSHIP BY INVESTMENT PROGRAM

The Grenada Citizenship-by-Investment Program was launched in August 2013 when the Grenadian parliament passed the Citizenship by Investment Act, 2013. Individuals who obtain citizenship through Grenada’s Citizenship by Investment Program are entitled to the same rights as any other Grenadian citizen. These include the right to live and work in Grenada at all times, and all the rights associated with membership of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM).

Like in case of other programs applicants must be of outstanding character, in good health, of high net worth and with no criminal record. There is no requirement to visit for an interview for the Grenada citizenship programme and in fact there is no need to travel to the country to complete the application.

There are two investment options available:

The National Transformation Fund (NTF)

The National Transformation Fund (NTF) is a Government fund responsible for financing projects that will benefit Grenada’s economy and help its diversification.

Applicants who choose this route must make a one-time contribution to the NTF. A minimum non-refundable contribution to the NTF of USD 150,000 for a single applicant and USD 200,000 for a family of up to four members

Approved Project (Real Estate) in Grenada

Currently, the vast majority of the approved project consists of real estate developments on the island of Grenada. These include luxury hotels, resorts, and villas.

Minimum investments of USD 220 000 in a government-approved real estate project must be maintained for at least three years from the date on which citizenship is granted.

Under both the NTF route and the approved real estate route, the contribution or investment must be accompanied by application, due diligence, processing, and, in the case of approved projects only, government fees.

Grenada offers its citizens social and political security, reinforced by its membership in the United Nations and the Commonwealth of Nations. Grenada’s local community is culturally vibrant, vivacious, and extremely friendly. Grenada has a long history, and locals are proud of their national heritage, which they celebrate throughout the year. Finally, Grenada is the perfect setting for both adventure and relaxation: its wildlife attractions, marine life, and national parks make it an exciting place to explore, while its super-yacht marina and pastel towns make it ideal for strolling and unwinding.

Grenada has no foreign income, wealth, gift, inheritance, or capital gains tax. There is no restriction on the repatriation of profits and imported capital. Generous incentive packages exist, including corporate tax incentives, full exemption from import duties, tax relief benefits, and export allowance, and there is duty-free trading in the Caribbean. The currency is the Eastern Caribbean Dollar (EC$). The official language is English.
